The central development department PDLC (Process Development Lighting Components) develops and improves components, processes and production equipments. For this task, a multi-disciplinary team of well educated engineers and scientist’s works together with external research institutes and other development departments within Philips.

 

Specific expertise is available in the field of:

- Process monitoring, e.g. Vision based systems
- Quartz material and manufacturing process knowledge

- Glass recipe and improvement
- Initial production equipment for process verification
