Increase your confidence in every container with Tiama FKO, the only Solution for Flange & Knock-Out defects.

, Tiama

Flanged and knocked-out finishes can cause harmful damages for consumers of glass containers. These defects tend to happen during the press & blow process. So far, there were no solution available in the market for glassmakers to detect these very tiny but critical defects (around 80µm for flanged and 150µm for knock-outs), causing costly resorting issues or in worst cases impactful quality claims.

In April 2024, Tiama officially launched its new inspection called FKO for Flange and Knock-Out defect detection on thread and crown finishes. This new inspection is exclusively available within the market leading carrousel machine MX4. All new MX4 machines but also existing ones can be equipped with this unique production safety barrier.

Thanks to highly focused inspection dedicated to finish inspection and 72 high-resolution images captured per container, it can run at up to 320 containers per minute, ensuring a complete detection of flange and knock-out defects.

Equipped with the latest Tiama human machine interface, the setting is simple with only 2 parameters to set, requiring no specific expertise.
As counters and defects are correlated to mold numbers, they are shared directly to hot-end monitoring, where corrective action can swiftly be applied.
