O-I Glass Among Forbes’ “America’s Best Large Employers”

, O-I Glass

The Forbes’ top employers list was determined by an anonymous survey of 50,000 Americans who worked for businesses with at least 1,000 employees. The respondents were asked to rate how likely they’d be to recommend their employers to others.

“We have a rich history of expertise with a strong heritage,“ says Kate Murawa, O-I Vice President of Talent, Learning and Culture. “Our employees tell us there is passion, dedication, teamwork and a sense of family at O-I.”

O-I Glass is based in Perrysburg, Ohio, with 25,000 employees worldwide in 20 countries. For more than 100 years, O-I Glass has been among the leading producers of sustainable, iconic, pure glass packaging for communities around the world. Glass is 100% recyclable and endlessly recyclable. It’s made of four natural ingredients: sand, limestone, soda ash, and recycled glass called “cullet.”

“While we believe glass is the most sustainable and kindest packaging material for the planet, our sustainability journey is about more than what we make: it’s how we make it,” says Chief Sustainability and Corporate Affairs Officer Randy Burns. “O-I’s sustainability journey is a holistic approach that seeks to balance people, planet, and our collective prosperity to build a sustainable organization for the future. Everything we do is driven by our people.”

As part of O-I’s commitment to a sustainable people-focused organization, the company signed its support to the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion Pledge; O-I also participated in the 2021 Corporate Equality Index and established their Global Executive Diversity & Inclusion Council.

Murawa says responses to the company’s annual engagement survey guide its decisions.

“The safety and health of our employees is paramount,” she says. “It’s important for us to ensure we create and maintain an environment where people feel safe, included and engaged in their work. Our Employer Value Proposition ‘Make What Matters’ reflects that we are committed to our values, which means we are committed to our people. It guides all that we do to support a top-notch employee experience.”

O-I employees share a passion for glass and its many benefits for the planet, for food and beverage brands, and for health & wellness. We are guided by our values, which support our vision, our decision-making process, and how we do business. You can read more about O-I Glass on our website.
