H.C. Starck Products for Glass Production Featured at Glasstec 2016
H.C. Starck’s robust portfolio of products for the glass melting industry will be on display at Glasstec 2016 in Dusseldorf, Germany, September 20-23. H.C. Starck’s expertise in the production and processing of high performance materials like molybdenum benefit applications in melting, homogenizing, feeding, shaping of glass, sputtered coatings of glass, quartz forming and melting, and sapphire crystal growing.
Featured will be H.C. Starck’s high purity molybdenum (Mo) and premium molybdenum-zirconium (MoZr) electrodes for the glass melting and quartz industries. These glass melting electrodes (GME) are available with conventional threads and custom tapered threads for ease of installation. To protect the electrodes and extend their operational life, we offer oxidation resistant coatings.
With its innovative fabrication capabilities, H.C. Starck produces stirrers, flow orifices, wear parts, mesh hot zones, forming tools, orifice plates and mandrels for high temperature glass melts. To accommodate both the LED lighting and solar industries, H.C. Starck offers molybdenum (Mo) and tungsten (W) crucibles for sapphire crystal-growth and molybdenum (Mo) sputtering targets for renewable energy applications.
