Das Glasherz wurde bei Euroglas in Osterweddingen im Zuge des Abriss des Schmelzofens,- der Kaltreparatur- in die heiße Glasmasse geworfen, um mit dieser zu verschmelzen und zu erkalten/erstarren. Dieser Blog dokumentiert seine Reise von den flammenden Anfängen bis hin zu dem Moment, in dem es aus der erstarrten Glasmasse herausgebrochen wurde.
Die durchschnittliche Lebensdauer eines Glasschmelzofens beträgt mit einer Produktion von 365 Tagen pro Jahr ca. 15 Jahre. Danach muss er abgerissen werden und ein neuer wird gebaut. Dazu wird er weitestmöglich geleert, das Restglas erkaltet im Ofen. Hier wird das Herz, das aus demselben Glas gefertigt wurde in einem fast rituellen Akt dem letzten Glasfluss vor dem Abschalten übergeben.
