Team skydive sees Encirc raise more than £36,500 for cancer charity

A team from Encirc including Managing Director Adrian Curry and other members of the company’s Leadership Team has raised more than £36,500 for The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity by taking part in a group skydive.

With the help of the Black Knights Parachute Centre in Cockerham, Lancashire, UK, the team jumped from a plane 15,000ft up  in support of their colleague, Encirc’s Operations Director, Robert Rose.

One of the rooftop green spaces of the new Liverpool hospital will be dedicated to Robert Rose in tribute to the fundraising effort.

The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre is one of the UK's leading cancer centres, and provides invaluable care and treatment for those living with the illness.

Robert has been attending the centre for treatment and has been overwhelmed with the quality of care he and other patients receive during all appointments from volunteers and staff alike.

The Charity is raising its final £5m for a brand-new hospital in Liverpool. Liverpool’s first cancer centre will be opening its doors to patients in May 2020, complete with the new garden dedicated to Robert.

Mr Rose said: “Clatterbridge has really looked after me and I can’t thank all of the doctors, nurses, care staff and volunteers enough.

“When some of my colleagues asked what support they could give me, I suggested something that I have always wanted to do but never got around to – a skydive to raise money for The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity.

“To my surprise they were up for the challenge and I can’t believe how much money they’ve raised, it’s absolutely fantastic!”

Mark Parkinson, Events Fundraising Manager at The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, added: “Because of the team we are able to really push forward with our fantastic work in the region, helping to save an additional 700 lives each year.”
