Siam Glass inaugurates Sorg furnace and second production line at Ayutthaya

Siam Glass has inaugurated a Sorg furnace and second production line at its Ayutthaya plant, Thailand. The SGA 2 furnace has a melting rate of 310t/d was heated up in the presence of senior management of Siam Glass’s parent company, the Osotspa Group. The new production line will produce glass bottles for the popular energy drink M150.

This is the first greenfield project for the Sorg Company with this important customer in Thailand. Sorg's Managing Director, Mr. Alexander Sorg, personally attended the celebration and presented the owner, Mr. Petch Osathanugrah, with a glass art with congratulations for the inauguration. Prominent political and industrial dignitaries from Thailand and Malaysia were invited to the celebrations, which took place in the middle of August this year.  

A new training centre was inaugurated at the same time, which will be established at the new location. A model of the new Sorg melting furnace is also on display there Sorg was awarded the contract from Siam Glass Industry in 2018 for the supply of a modern glass melting plant, including a Sorg STW working end as well as two Sorg 340S and two Sorg 240 forehearths.
