Die Intelligente Fahrzeugscheibe sorgt für mehr Sicherheit und Komfort
Intelligent Glass Control nutzt spezielle Folien, die in das Glas eingebunden sind und durch elektrische Steuersignale ihre Lichtdurchlässigkeit verändern. Hierdurch wird es möglich, dass sich sämtliche Scheiben auf Knopfdruck verdunkeln lassen. Dabei geschieht dies äußerst selektiv und zielgerichtet.
So lassen sich nicht nur einzelne Scheiben ansteuern, sondern auch der Grad der Verdunklung ist frei wählbar, die Scheibe kann also quasi gedimmt werden. Das sorgt nicht nur für höheren Komfort für die Insassen, sondern macht das Autofahren gleichzeitig sicherer. Ein typisches Beispiel wäre tief stehende Sonne über dem Horizont. Eigentlich geht die Hand jetzt vom Lenkrad zur klassischen Sonnenblende.
Die Folge: Neben der schlechten Sicht hat der Fahrer kurzzeitig auch eine geringere Kontrolle über das Fahrzeug. Solche Situationen lassen sich künftig bereits im Vorfeld erkennen, die Scheiben könnten sich schon vor Eintritt des Ereignisses automatisch verdunkeln.
