The world´s leading hollow glass industry suppliers descend on Glassman Middle East

Middle East becomes a hub for hollow glass making

The Middle East is enjoying an unprecedented surge in hollow glassmaking. Vast reserves of raw materials, cheap energy, a young  population with an increased disposable income, and an enviable geographic location for exports means the region has become a hub for glassmaking.
Business is expected to increase even further with the recent opening of trade borders between Iran and the West.
Glassman Middle East will bring together all major sectors of the hollow, container and tableware glass industry. Leading global suppliers, technology experts and glassmakers will all attend the event which takes place between May 10-11 in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Why Abu Dhabi?

The UAE’s location is unbeatable in terms of reaching businesses in the growing and dynamic countries of the Gulf, India and Africa. The region itself is home to several hollow glass manufacturing plants in UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Kuwait, as well as India, Egypt and Pakistan.

Of the four container glass manufacturing plants located within the UAE itself, two (t hose owned by Saverglass and Rak Ghani Glass) have become operational in the past five years. This demonstrates not only the region’s growing demand for hollow glass but also that of its surrounding countries, as a high proportion of the UAE’s production is destined for export.

With the opening of trade agreements between Iran and the West, the glass industry is set to benefit from increased exposure to the Iranian market. Iran's hollow glass industry is now preparing for investment from foreign companies looking to take advantage of Iran's well established industry as well as its vast reserves of raw materials.
