The Vetropack Group, one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of glass packaging, has a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO): as planned, Dr. Lukas Burkhardt assumed operational management of Vetropack at the beginning of the year. The 46-year-old Swiss national succeeds Johann Reiter, who retired as scheduled at the end of 2025.

Lukas Burkhardt brings many years of experience in the container glass and automotive industries. The mechanical engineer, who holds a PhD from ETH Zurich, has also gained international leadership experience in Asia.
“I am very much looking forward to my new role and to leading Vetropack into the future,” says Lukas Burkhardt. “For me, Vetropack is a traditional company with enormous potential: as a family-owned business, we are strongly anchored in the market and possess extensive know-how in the development of one of the most sustainable packaging solutions available. Preferred candidate with industry expertise

Chairman of the Board Claude Cornaz is very pleased with the succession solution:
