Linde and Glass Global are proud to present a two-day seminar on the theme of “improved glass melting through oxy-fuel technologies” in Lisbon, Portugal on June 24th and June 25th, 2008.
The focus will be on glass melting technologies that increase the profitability of customers' production facility. For instance, using the unique patented CGM™ advanced Convective Glass Melting technology can increase production by more than 15%. The main topics of the seminar are:
Take the opportunity to meet highly experienced European and American glass melting experts and receive useful tips on how to optimise your glass melting techniques. This is possible using different oxy-fuel technologies or simply by calculating batch composition or furnace settings more accurately, just to mention a few options. Online Glass Engineering (OGE) is a new analysis tool designed to make life easier for you as you go about your daily business. The seminar includes a real highlight for participants: the unique opportunity to see Linde’s CGM™ technology applied to a large air-fuel float furnace for primarily the production of architectural glass at Saint-Gobain Covina Plant. CGM™ has been installed in this furnace for approximately 2.5 years in the “zero port” area to increase the furnace capacity above it’s air-fuel design capability. The CGM™ installation, including the drilling of the crown, was accomplished with the furnace in production. This process will be reviewed with the attendees prior to the plant visit. We are also delighted to announce that Tom Barrow, former Head of Float Glass R&D at Pilkington Ltd. at Laurinburg, NC USA, now retired, will be sharing his experiences of their CGM™ installation with you. Note: Linde respects the need to maintain the confidentiality of our customer’s process information. Therefore, attendance to the seminar is by invitation only and float glass manufacturers are not permitted to the plant visit. |
