Company Background / History

Cumbria Crystal was founded by a consortium with an interest in antique glass and the aim of producing clear, uncut, full lead crystal using traditional manufacturing techniques. The most stringent quality standards were applied to ensure that only the finest quality received the Cumbria Crystal assay mark. Cut crystal soon followed, based on classical designs from the 17th and 18th centuries, using only hand cutting to achieve unrivalled precision and sharpness.

Today the tradition continues with superb quality, full lead crystal being produced using only mouth blowing and hand cutting techniques. The resulting clarity, brilliance, weight and sharpness of cut together with our unique and distinctive designs sets Cumbria Crystal apart from mass produced products. Hardly surprising that we are the largest supplier of crystal to British Embassies world-wide, supply many of the UK´s most prestigious retailers and members of the British Royal family.

Cumbria Crystal is now the UK´s main supplier of luxury bespoke crystal for prestigious clients and is working with designers to create exciting and modern new ranges and pieces.
