XLG Creates Modern Glass Designs with Joel BermanXLG, a product design studio based in Dallas, announces a new design collaboration with Vancouver, British Columbia-based Joel Berman Glass Studios International Ltd. As part of the collaboration, several new glass pattern designs will be developed by XLG with Joel Berman Glass Studios. The first design in the series, Intersect, features a modern, repeating pattern of crossed lines. The result is a design that is both sophisticated and simple. Intersect is currently featured in panels of kiln-cast glass installed in Joel Berman Glass Studio´s showroom at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago. "This new collaboration is an exciting development for us," said Joel Berman, founder and president of Joel Berman Glass Studios International Ltd. "Together with XLG we will create patterns in glass that are unlike anything we´ve done in the past. These new patterns will offer structured geometry in a handcrafted modernist approach." Through the collaboration, the companies will cooperatively develop new patterns to be cast in glass for the architecture and interior design industry. "We are very pleased to be working with Joel Berman," said XLG partner Charles Kane. "Our designs are rooted in modernist principals. They add a new dimension to Joel Berman´s handcrafted textures." Joel Berman Glass Studios is among the leading independent designers and manufacturers of architectural glass art and related glass products in North America. The company specializes in the design and fabrication of kiln-cast and pressure formed textured glass for a wide range of applications in corporate, commercial, hospitality, retail, governmental and residential environments worldwide. XLG, a leading design studio based in Dallas, has award-winning design collaborations with Shaw Contract Group, a leading carpet manufacturer, and Novikoff, a Fort Worth, Texas-based high-end casegoods manufacturer.
