Watch out for Fake Facts About Thermix-TX>NThermoseal Group urges all window companies and sealed unit manufacturers to get the ‘true’ facts about high-performance warm edge spacer bar, Thermix-TX.N. Mark Hickox, sales director at Thermoseal Group says: ‘This statement follows a recent article in Fensa News, which claims that Thermix-TX.N has been categorised as a mid-performance spacer in an independent study carried out by the GGF. “We’d like to point out a couple of things about this article. Firstly, Thermix-TX.N was not included in this report and so could not possibly have been categorised. Secondly, we’d like to highlight the fact that Edgetech has printed a retraction statement which states the truth about this report. Finally, we’d like to present the true facts about Thermix-TX.N. “Thermix-TX.N is a warm edge spacer bar made from high performance engineering plastic Tecatherm combined with an integrated stainless steel gas diffusion barrier. It has been produced in response to the industry’s demands for a superior warm edge product which bonds effectively to form a structurally stable sealed unit. “As a sealed unit manufacturer or a window company, it is the impact that the warm edge bar has on the performance of the whole sealed unit which needs to be taken into account. “Thermix-TX.N has been engineered with high precision and exhaustively tested within a sealed unit. The Thermix-TX.N team took into account the bonding characteristics of all sealant types to aluminium, which has been demonstrated over the past thirty years. This characteristic has been duplicated in TX.N by replacing the aluminium with stainless steel and combining it with a highly engineered thermally efficient plastic. The steel also acts as a 100% gas-tight barrier which is unlike many other systems where the performance may be in doubt or the gas barrier easily damaged. “Some composite spacer systems do not bond well to certain sealant systems, thus leaving a limited choice for the insulated glass producer. This may compromise the long-term quality of the sealed unit when an unproven combination is the only choice. “TX.N also allows the use of a pure 3A desiccant. This ensures a definitive volume in every sealed unit capable of keeping glass mist-free for many years to come. “Thermoseal Group is making every effort to help improve the general standard of double glazing units to help our customers to produce top quality sealed units that meet the standards of the EN1279 testing and also achieve the best WER. We believe in Thermix-TX.N and its performance within a sealed unit which is why we’ve produced ‘Energis-TX.N’ - one of the worlds’ first branded sealed unit designs available on the market. It is the blueprint for a superior technology sealed unit designed to minimise energy loss through a window. “Energis-TX.N is our recommendation for a superior sealed unit. It is constructed using low-e glass, Thermix TX.N warm-edge spacer tube filled with a pure 3A molecular sieve, and the cavity being filled with an inert gas such as Argon. It is put together with an emphasis on achieving a gas-tight, long-lasting unit while ensuring a thermally efficient and structurally sound double glazed window which will not diminish in its thermal performance through gas loss. “The Energis-TX.N unit is based on the evolution of the double glazing industry rather than the introduction of a revolutionary product. It is based on the knowledge that we have gained from thirty years experience in producing machinery and consumables for the insulated glass and glazing industry.” To find out about more about Thermoseal Group Limited and its comprehensive range of machinery and consumables visit stand B60 in Hall 4 during the Glassex show (8-10 April 08), or call 0121 331 3950 or visit www.thermosealgroup.com for further information. 01.04.2008, Thermoseal Services Ltd.
