Warschau, Bayern, Barcelona, Bayern, Hamburg – insgesamt 3360 Kilometer legen die 1400 Glaselemente zurück, bevor sie in Hamburg zu der 16 000 Quadratmeter großen Fassade der Elbphilharmonie zusammengesetzt werden können.

Jedes der 2,20 x 3,30 Meter großen Teile wird zunächst in der Nähe von Warschau (Polen) produziert, von dort reisen sie weiter nach Plattling in Bayern. Dort werden sie per Siebdruckverfahren mit einem Raster aus hellen Punkten bedruckt, notwendig, um die Sonneneinstrahlung in das Gebäude zu bremsen.
Von Plattling reisen die Scheiben nach Barcelona (Spanien), wo sie gebogen werden. Schließlich kommen die Glasplatten zurück nach Bayern, damit sie in Gundelfingen in die Rahmen eingefügt werden.
