RHI - New chimney blocks for regenerator settingTo decrease the installation time of chimney blocks in the regenerator, the height of the bricks is increased from 150mm to 175mm. Besides a reduction of installation time of 15%, the new shape provides higher stability of the whole checker pack because of the decreased number of layers. First supply of the new shape of chimney blocks has been to a customer in Brazil.
For the lining of the regenerator housing and the checker work, RHI Refractories offers a large number of tested solutions. The lining concept is oriented on the operating conditions of the glass melting tank as much as possible. For the checker work, proven chimney blocks are available in a great number of different shapes for different flue cross sections of 120 mm to 170mm. The combination of bricks and with openings on the one hand and full bricks on the other results not only in high stability but also in a high degree of effectiveness.
