Rexam Deputy Chairman steps down

Rexam, the global consumer packaging company and the world’s leading beverage can maker, announces that Chris Clark, Deputy Chairman of Rexam and Senior Independent Director, is to step down today from Rexam as he approaches the completion of his three-year term.

Commenting, Rolf Börjesson, Rexam’s Chairman, said:  ”We fully understand Chris’ decision to step down and the timing constraints associated with managing his other three Chairmanship roles.  I would like to thank him for his contribution to Rexam and, on behalf of the Board, wish Chris all the best for the future.”

Carl Symon, who joined Rexam as non-executive director in July 2003, now becomes Rexam´s Senior Independent Director and will assume Chris Clark’s responsibility as Chairman of the Remuneration Committee.
