Raute Precision supplies plant to Pilkington

Pilkington is a worldwide industrial group and manufactures high-quality float glass, for example, for the construction, automobile and electronics industries. Since 1978, Raute Precision has been working with Pilkington. The first project Raute completed for Pilkington was a batch plant project for Lahden Lasitehdas. Up to now, Raute Precision has supplied plants for ten glassworks projects of Pilkington all over the world. Furthermore, Raute Precision has received an order from the Belgian company Glaverbel S.A. They are to supply a cullet return system for a float glass factory, with delivery to take place in 2001. Both projects add up to approximately FIM 51 million. The Finnish company Raute Precision supplies weighing and dosing systems and plants, as well as their components not only to the glass industry but also to various other industries. Raute Precision can be considered as one of the two leading companies in the world as supplier of glass batch plants and dry mix plants. The net sales in 1999 amounted to FIM 144 million, part of the Glass Industry Unit made 36 per cent hereof.
