Raute Precision received the largest order in its history

The glass industry unit of Raute Precision within the Raute Group is to deliver a float glass batch plant and a cullet handling system to Santa Catarina, Brazil. The newly received order is the largest single project in the history of Raute Precision and is valued at more than EUR 8 million. The order was placed by Pilkington plc and the customer is Cebrace, a Brazilian joint venture of Pilkington and Saint-Gobain. The delivery is set for the years 2003-2004, in such a way that the equipment will be delivered during the summer of 2003 and the plant will begin operating in the spring of 2004. Pilkington is a world-wide glass industry group, which produces high-class float glass, for example, for the construction, car and electronics industries. Raute Precision has co-operated with Pilkington since 1987, delivering float glass batch plants for twelve of Pilkington’s glass factory projects. The Raute Precision business group deliveries weighing and dosing systems and plants, and their related components, to various industrial sectors. The business group’s net sales for 2001 amounted to EUR 41 million, 46 % of which was generated by the glass industry unit.
