Since 1995 the Grafix GmbH is one of IfG’s (Ingenieurbüro für Glastechnik GmbH, Waiblingen, formally Bielefeld) strongest partners. With more than 50 years of experience with the application of separating media and in co-operation with IfG Grafix has achieved the market-leadership in the glass industry with world-wide 400 EPS-systems. These plants are running in float-, toughening-, silvering- and bending lines etc. An important field of use is the application of separating powder before the bending process in the windshield production. Recently a plant for the production of bus- and lorry glasses was taken in operation at a Belgium client. For this type of glass a homogeneous powder application is of particular importance. Additionally due to the strong bending radius the edges are rather critical points. The installed equipment can apply a greater powder quantity especially to the edges. Via a digital signal the EPS – Economic Powdering System gets information about the areas of more or less powder application. Thus a precise and economical application of the entire powder quantity is achieved. On Grafix’ premises eight designers/engineers take care of the special field “application of separating media” with the target to steadily increase product quality and production security. As the latest development a new measuring optics were presented on the “glasstec” With this measuring optics the dosage system can work in a self-responding mode and not only in a pure control mode. By optical sensors the powder/air flow is permanently controlled. In case that powder quantity varies because of powder humidity, powder lack or pollution, the system automatically makes the necessary adjustments.
