Launch of ‘The Stourbridge Glass International Collection’, Stylish, Modern, Handmade Glass and Jewellery, infused with History’

Having been born in the heart of the once world capital of glass making many years ago, perhaps it was only natural in 1999 to try to use my business expertise to put together a group aimed at saving the industry. Since that time I have studied glass worldwide and when the opportunity was recently created to mix business with pleasure, by bringing together a collection of the very best local companies and individual artists, the opportunity was too much to resist.

This collection provides links to the past and a vision of the future, including for examples, one of the few remaining hand made crystal manufacturers, a modern variation on cameo glass inspired by Frederick Carder (who left Stourbridge to establish Steuben), pieces inspired by nature, marine life and architecture and much more. I have discovered that people buy glass for many different reasons……. Sometimes they are intrigued by the technical complexity of the pieces, fascinated by the messages that the pieces are trying to portray, interested in the personality of the glass artist, wish to buy it and start collecting an artists pieces as an investment or, simply, because they love a piece and want it for themselves or to share it with someone special or friends that they admire.
