Insulation glazing for contemporary architecture

Energy-efficient construction has been a major requirement for modern object architecture for a long time. At the same time, modern components must also meet ambitious aesthetic demands. At glasstec 2006, Interpane presented "ipasol", a façade glazing programme with solutions for practically any architectural concept. It covers all transmittance classifications, the appearances range from neutral to lightly tinted glazing, with low external reflection to highly reflecting façades. The thermal insulation glazing of the "iplus"-series enables energy-efficient construction, particularly for residential applications and renovations.
With the new "ipasol neutral 48/25" the Interpane product range for solar protection covers all transmittance classifications. "ipasol platin 25/14", for example, offers special protection from solar radiation in the summer months. Its extremely low g-value (15%) reduces the energy required for air conditioning. This glazing has been tailored to meet the requirements necessary for the extremely sunny regions of the world.
If plenty of natural daylight is the main objective, ipasol neutral 73/39 is the glazing of choice. Its light transmittance of tL = 73 %, which is very high for a solar control glazing, reduces the need for artificial illumination, for example, and provides light-flooded rooms. All the while, the highly selective coating lets in relatively little solar energy (g-value: 42 % as per EN 410). As a consequence, the rooms will not heat up as much during the summer months.
However, the "ipasol" product range also puts an emphasis on the most diverse of design aspects. Anything from a neutral appearance (e.g. ipasol neutral 50/25) to lightly tinted glazing (ipasol shine 40/21), from low external reflection (e.g. ipasol neutral 52/29) to highly reflecting optics (ipasol platin 47/28) are all possible.
Reducing energy demands with thermal insulation glazing.
The products around the basic glass "iplus E" offer efficient thermal insulation. Even the standard version with argon filling offers a thermal insulation of Ug = 1.1 W/m²K. The passive energy gain (g-value = 60 % as per EN 410), excellent colour neutrality (Ra,D = 97) and high transparency ( tL = 80 %) create a pleasant living and working environment in well lit rooms. Glazing such as the triple insulation "iplus 3C E" improve the heat insulation to values down to Ug = 0.5 W/m²K (EN 673).
The multifunctional glazing "iplus city E" has been designed for luxurious in-town living. It combines efficient thermal insulation (Ug-value = 1.1 W/m²K), sound-proofing (Rw up to 38 db), and increased burglary-resistance (P4A safety rating as per EN 356).
Another product designed at the Interpane E & B think tank is the new temperable low-E coating "iplus ET". Basic glass partners can process these coated panes after they have been cut to size into tempered glass or heat strengthened glass using conventional convection ovens.
