Hawkins County glass plant work force cut in halfA restructuring of AGC Flat Glass North America is resulting in 250 layoffs at a company plant in East Tennessee and the loss of 63 administrative jobs in Kingsport.Advertisement The manufacturer will close one production line at its Greenland plant in Hawkins County by the end of the week.The jobs will end within four months.AGC employs about 1,180 people at its operations in Kingsport, Hawkins County and nearby Abingdon, Va. That number will be cut to about 830.
