Glasslam announces appointment of Gerhard Reichert as President

Glasslam N.G.I., Inc. CEO Stephen Howes has announced the appointment of Gerhard Reichert, as President of the company effective September 8, 2008. Mr. Reichert will join Glasslam during a major expansion of its operations servicing the glass fabrication and window industries. According to Howes, “We are building a world class company, and we are adding world class leadership to our management team. Gerhard has an unmatched background as an inventor, promoter and teacher, and we are thrilled to be bringing him on board.”

Reichert received a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design from Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario and was a founder of Edgetech I.G., LTD in 1985. An inventor of Edgetech’s Super Spacer® [a registered trademark of Edgetech I.G., Inc.], he served as the company’s Director of Engineering and Vice President of Business Development. Mr. Reichert is considered an expert in insulating glass technology, holding over 40 industry patents, and has been an author and presenter worldwide at technical events and conferences. He serves on the Board of Directors of IGMA (Insulating Glass Manufacturers Alliance) and on the Board of Governors for IGCC (Insulating Glass Certification Council). When asked about accepting the Glasslam position, Reichert stated, “I am delighted to join Steve Howes and his team at Glasslam and to be a part of the development and introduction of so many innovative and dynamic products. This is going to be fun again.”

Reichert, his wife Gayle, and their three teenage children live in Ohio, where they enjoy horses, tennis, soccer and the activities of their local church.
