It is a clear indicator of the acceptance and appreciation of our products and services in the industry and by our clients”, affirms David González, President of the Vitro Glass Containers business unit.

He added that the ability of Vitro to satisfy the needs of its customers allows it to aggressively compete in the markets of the United States, México, Central America and the Caribbean; markets with increasing demand. It also successfully competes in the rest of the world especially niche markets with great growth potential such as beverages, beer, wine and liquors, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, among others.

Joseph Cattaneo, President of GPI pointed out that through design and use of glass containers the path is being opened to deliver to customers a pure product, of “Premium” quality and sustainable.

“The use of glass is a socially and environmentally responsible decision that provides value added, as it creates a superior impact and brand loyalty”, he confirmed.

John T. Shaddox, President of Vitro Packaging with its base in Plano, Texas, explained that with these awards the value of glass is confirmed as the best option to package and develop a Premium brand image so much sought by today’s consumer.

“We are proud to have won five awards of the twelve available and, considering our US market share, he went on to explain, this recognition speaks a lot about our values, creativity, innovation, team work, consumer focus and sense of social responsibility”.

Horacio Trujillo, Marketing Manager for Vitro Packaging, referred to the relevance of receiving the awards.

“One of the most significant rewards for a company, is the recognition by the glass industry that ratifies our presence as one of the truly innovative leaders in the glass container industry in the United States of America”, he argues.

The “Clear Choice Awards” is the only program that awards manufacturing companies for consumer products that are packaged in glass containers. The variables that are taken into consideration for determining the winners are: esthetics, creativity, form, functionality ad attractiveness to the market.

Since 1989, this program has distinguished manufacturers that have expanded their horizons in the design and use of innovative forms for glass containers.

The Glass Packaging Institute represents the glass container industry in the United States. Through it, the producers communicate in one body to: determine industry standards, promote efficient environmental policies and train packaging professionals.

Vitro is an industry leader in México due to: its innovative technology, value added containers, environmental concerns and a clear vision of sustainable development. By manufacturing products that are 100% recyclable it supports environmental preservation and offers the opportunity to leave a cleaner world for future generations.
