FERRO AND NANOFILM FORM PARTNERSHIP FOR SALES OF NANO-COATINGS FOR GLASS

Ferro Corporation and Nanofilm, both headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, USA recently announced a new partnership whereby Ferro will market Nanofilm’s unique thin film nanocoatings for glass. These new materials will be launched and promoted for the first time at Glasstec 2008, to be held in Dusseldorf from 21st to 25th October, 2008.

This new relationship combines Ferro’s extensive sales network and leading performance materials supplier position in the glass industry, with Nanofilm’s technology platforms and experience in formulating thin films for a wide range of substrates and surfaces. The products compliment Ferros’ existing line of decorative and functional coatings for flat, automotive and container glass.

These protective nanoseal coatings are easy to apply, cure rapidly in air and have high chemical and mechanical durability, including dishwasher resistance. They offer a number of additional glass performance benefits, such as solar control, resistance to soiling or contaminants, ease of cleaning and scratch resistance. Optical properties are unaffected by these nano-layers which makes them particularly interesting for application with AR- or other types of glass coatings.
