EGLASSTREK SYSTEMS – FURNACE BOTTOM PLATINUM DRAIN

Especially for the production of LCD / TFT substrate glass, drains can be successfully fitted in recessed bottom of the glass furnace, because at reduced glass flow rate the glass particles containing zircon oxide are heavier than the base glass and settle on the floor of the furnace. Depending on the intensity of the corrosion of the refractories in the glass melter, the drain that transports the so-called bottom glass must be opened at intervals to be determined, generally once a week.

The further development of these floor drain units are pipes made of a precious material that can conduct electricity, e.g. PGM (Platinum Group Metals) and that have several electrical connections. The metal pipe itself will be used as a conductor of electrical current by connecting the pipe in a low voltage circuit where it functions as a resistance. An insulating covering is placed around the precious metal pipe.
