Cleanup of old glass plant to be completed by ´09Vice Mayor B.K. Vanhorn says the site of an old glass plant in Clarksburg has huge potential for redevelopment. But a cleanup of the former Adamston Flat Glass plant property has to be completed first. Tests conducted by the state Department of Environmental Protection found suspected arsenic, lead and other semi-volatile organic compounds at the site. Pasupathy Ramanan, the DEP´s project manager for the site, says he expects the voluntary remediation to be completed in 2008. The agency then will issue a certification of completion. Clarksburg City Manager Martin Howe says the city is marketing the site. He says the certificate will show banking institutions that it is safe to finance a purchase of the property. 14.08.2008, dailymail.com News material on the Site is copyright and belongs to the Company or to its third party news provider, and all rights are reserved.
