Garibaldi Glass Industries Inc. is a Burnaby B.C. based business taking on rapid expansion plans. Garibaldi is a leading glass fabricator and is currently operating out of an 80,000 square facility. Garibaldi has acquired land in Burnaby to build to suit a custom 150,000 square foot world-class production facility. We are seeking an experience ´project manager´ with exceptional organizational and manufacturing skills with the ability to lead the team from concept through launch and continuing employment thereafter to continually refine the process and facility as we grow.
Garibaldi is a privately held, well established Vancouver based glass fabrication facility currently employing 165 staff and growing rapidly. The company is on a journey to becoming world class and is employing continuous improvement, lean manufacturing and Six Sigma tools to achieve this. This position will be an ongoing role that will be responsible for leadership and facilitation of the plant layout and set up and continue on after the plant launch to continuously refine the process.
Job Description - Senior Project Manager
This key leadership position is accountable for and to a dedicated and committed work team.
Reports to: Vice President
Responsibilities:
To understand Garibaldi´s current production facility, processes, capacities and culture.
To manage the ´New facility project´ from inception to move in and beyond through facilitation and implementation of stakeholder requirements.
To manage all Garibaldi building and equipment acquisitions to ensure precise project control.
To lease with General contractor, contractors, consultants and trades to ensure top quality, on time, on budget delivery of equipment, goods and services.

On time & on budget
Capacity is scalable to absorb future growth through automation & pre-determined additional equipment.
Qualifications
Qualifications: Education/Training:
Preference given to ´Certified project management professional - CPPM´ - an engineering degree, or equivalent practical experience.
Courses/training/experience in various Quality Management systems such as Lean Manufacturing, TQM, ISO, Six sigma etc.
Mastery of MS project and project management tools
Experience/abilities:
Minimum 5 years experience in project management of large complex installations and / or upgrade to world-class manufacturing/production facility.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and external vendors/contractors /consultants.
Solid analytical and problem solving abilities.
Advanced computer and project management skills.
Ability to translate Garibaldi vision in to reality.
Must be a self-starter with an energetic approach and a passion to be part of creating a world-class operation.
