Pyrotek, a Spokane based International Company has an immediate need for a Production Manager in our Spokane, WA manufacturing plant. We are a world leader in providing high temperature materials to the metals, glass and hearth industries. The successful candidate will be directly responsible for safety, quality, on time delivery, efficiency, compliance with company policies and profitability of the department. Manager will work with limited daily supervision and will take responsibility for identifying and resolving operational opportunities in cooperation with others to optimize quality, cost and delivery.
To be successful, the person accepting this position must have proven leadership capabilities within a high expectations environment, have a proven track record of implementing Lean Manufacturing principles and implementing innovative manufacturing processes incorporating these skills.
Responsibilities
Directs and coordinates through subordinate supervisory personnel, activities concerned with production of company products, utilizing knowledge of product technology, production methods and procedures, and capabilities of machinery and equipment.
Confers with management personnel to establish production and quality control standards develop budgets and cost controls and to obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications and delivery dates of products ordered.
In conjunction with Plant Engineers, Sales Engineers and Operations Manager, develop and implement growth strategies and tactical plans. Ensure manufacturing capacities and the proper tools are in place to meet customer requirements today and in the future as the business grows.
Provide leadership and motivation to the manufacturing team. Ensure that people selection and development are based on best practices.
Establish production goals that support financial plan and customer requirements and manufacture parts through the effective deployment of human and capital resources. Ensure that all established costs, quality standards and customer delivery requirements are met.
Manage production priorities and obtain required outside support services to ensure customer schedules and quality requirements are met.
Provide necessary leadership for the utilization of Lean Manufacturing principles that become part of normal business operations.
Ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in either engineering or operations with 5 years of minimum industry experience in a high volume, high mix environment.
Strong background in Operations Management/Manufacturing Management.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Sound understanding of Lean Manufacturing principals & fundamentals
Strong PC experience using Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, Project, etc.
Customer centric attitude.
