Function: Directs and coordinates the financial functions of the plant. These functions include preparing financial analyses and reports and presenting findings and recommendations to operations management. The Plant Controller is responsible for the plant´s financial plans, policies and procedures, and measuring the success of its initiatives . Serves as a key business leader for the plant.
Essential Functions
Develops and provides analysis and interpretation of statistical and financial information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget and other matters bearing on the financial and operating effectiveness of the plant.
Provides and coordinates financial reporting and organizational metrics. Works closely with VP of Operations and Viracon Finance Department.
Participates in the establishment of objectives and metrics for the plant and prepares reports that outline the company´s financial results against prior year, plan and forecast.
Coordinates and directs the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, working closely with the VP of Operations and the Viracon Finance Department. Institutes and maintains other planning and control procedures, analyzes and reports variances.
Provides internal reports, revises and updates reports based on the needs of the organization, and furnishes reports as necessary. Responsible for plant management reporting, financial policymaking, and training of plant personnel regarding financial reporting and organizational metrics.
Responsible for providing the organization and its management with the appropriate financial and operating information as necessary. This individual and the Viracon Finance Department are expected to work closely with other departments on opportunities for improving accounting and operations systems.
Coordinates inventory control process including physical and snap shot inventories, working closely with the Viracon Finance Department.
Provides financial expertise and guidance regarding opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost reductions in all aspects of the operations.
Active participation in the development, implementation and execution of strategy for the organization and Viracon as a whole.
Provides financial analysis and rational for capital acquisitions. Ensures that capital is linked to overall objectives and strategies. Completes required forms and supporting documentation and submits on a timely basis.
Serves as a key leader for the organization providing business expertise and advice.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
B.S. Degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 5 years experience with a history of success.
Skill in math, accuracy and precision, interest in business, organized, willingness to follow recommended procedures, honesty, patience, good written and oral communication skills, good people skills, team player, knowledge of accounting systems with strong computer skills.
Comfortable communicating with all levels within the organization.
Sensitive to other cultures and backgrounds, able to work in a multi-cultural workplace and promote and support diversity and inclusion.
Strong planning and organizational skills.
Ability to function independently in a multi-task environment, as well as work as part of a team.
