SolarGlas AG is going to build the first oxy-fuel fired float glass furnace 100% dedicated to solar applications. The project creates about 120 new jobs and complies with latest requirements to technology and environmental exigencies. The plant has a capacity of 400 tpd. The location in Forst (Brandenburg), Germany , is situated close to large solar module manufacturers in this area. Production start-up of the line is scheduled for June 2009.

Qualifications
Required education:
Bachelor´s degree in engineering. ME preferred.
ME - Knowledge/Experience: Basic mechanical systems in a manufacturing environment. Prefer some working knowledge or experience in utility systems including: domestic water supply and distribution, sanitary sewer, compressed air, cooling water systems with cooling towers, water treatment, HVAC, nitrogen, hydrogen and oxygen systems. Knowledge of applicable codes and standards
Day to Day Responsibilities:
Support Plant Safety: Dedication and commitment towards plant safety. Perform routine safety observations and drive safety improvements. Help maintain compliance with all Loss Control requirements
Continuous Improvements: Assist in plant continuous improvement activities and drive improvements using Lean Manufacturing tools.
Operational Support: Internal customer support and trouble shooting for a highly automated Float Glass manufacturing process.
Maintenance Support: Support Maintenance activities with internal staff and contractors.
Project Work: Determination of design requirements, preparation of specifications and drawings, procurement of necessary materials and services, and coordination of installation. Creation of cost estimates, payback, justification, time lines, etc. for projects.
Leadership and an entrepreneurial spirit to drive improvements.
