SolarGlas AG is going to build the first oxy-fuel fired float glass furnace 100% dedicated to solar applications. The project creates about 120 new jobs and complies with latest requirements to technology and environmental exigencies. The plant has a capacity of 400 tpd. The location in Forst (Brandenburg), Germany , is situated close to large solar module manufacturers in this area. Production start-up of the line is scheduled for June 2009.

Candidate for this position is expected to have comprehensive knowledge of Facility Management preferably in a float glass fabrication or a related industry including, but not limited to:
Facility Engineering
Property Management
Health, Savety and Environment
Facilities Maintenance
Capital Project Management
Day to Day Responsibilities:
Facility Engineering:
Develop a fundamental understanding of all Business Services Division´s Facility-related systems and services.
Act as the primary liaison between the capital project management organization and the Facility maintenance organization. Attend project meetings to evaluate any infrastructure related requests and determine their impact on existing systems and the maintenance organization. Communicate Facility receivership and handoff requirements to each project team for any transfer of equipment or systems from a project manager to the Facilities maintenance and operations groups.
Provide systems and equipment Engineering support as needed. Collect and conduct data analysis. Evaluate and recommend infrastructure and/or equipment upgrades. Provide project support for specifying and procuring new equipment, obtaining quotes, developing project timelines, developing AR´s, coordinating new installations or upgrades using internal trades and/or external contractors.
Gain knowledge and understanding of various facility systems and processes, eventually taking ownership of these services. Assume authority for approving various System Change Requests.
